#SchoolsNotPrisons Merced

(Merced, CA) –We’Ced Youth Media and Building Healthy Communities Merced is proud to bring you ‘#SchoolsnotPrisons Merced,’ a youth and family-oriented event that will educate youth and adults alike about the impacts of the school-to-prison pipeline and mass incarceration. The event will be on July 8th, at the Merced Multicultural Art Center. Doors open at 5:00 p.m.
This event is open and free to the public and will consist of a special screen and panel discussion of ‘They Call Us Monsters’ a Ben Lear documentary that takes an intimate look at the fairness of charging teens as adults and the school-to-prison pipeline.
live music, live art shows, food, and entertainment will be provided free of charge. RSVP to the event and have a chance to win a very special raffle price.
