In regards to tonight’s meeting (Monday) at the Merced Civic Center, I understand the Merced City Council will be presented with map recommendations by the Independent Districting Advisory Committee in which they will be voting on the district boundaries. These new boundaries will have a big impact on the future city council elections.
I support the Palma 1 plan because it was created by a collaborative effort between three community-based organizations: Communities for a New California Education Fund, Building Healthy Communities, and the Merced Organizing Project. These organizations created the Palma 1 plan with the priorities and concerns of the families living in Merced.
I urge the Merced City council members to hear the voices of those who they were elected to represent.
