Creating a healthy local school plan that benefits all of Merced’s children requires input, feedback and engagement from all parents/providers. The Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) provides one of those opportunities that can make a difference. But its success depends on all of us – parents, students and concerned community members – becoming better informed and on how the extra funding from LCFF will support our schools and will help our kids achieve academic success.
As a parent, I applaud those who attended the LCFF 101 Parent Training provided by Building Healthy Communities Merced last on May 27. As a parent, I need to be involved and informed of any program and project that could help my children and my community promote academic success. I look forward to more events and becoming more involved with my children’s academic success.
